Deepwater block with new 3D seismic and subject to a currently active farm-out campaign.

With the PSC effective date of January 2012, a work program commitment to acquire 1500 sq. km of 3D seismic data was completed in 2014 with processing and interpretation studies conducted in 2015. With water depths >2200m this deepwater block is subject to an active farm-out campaign currently attracting considerable interest, being located in the prolific Gulf of Guinea region. Oranto has 100% equity in the PSC at present.

The acreage is anked to the west by the Cameroon to São Tomé volcanic line and is otherwise generally underplated by proto-oceanic crust. Cretaceous Cenomanian aged fan systems have extended across the block with a sediment provenance from the east and north east. These fans comprise the anticipated coarse clastic reservoir facies with hydrocarbon being sourced from underlying Albian source kitchen. The fan systems extend to some 140 sq. km on block and demonstrate interesting far offset response despite being buried at some 3500m below surface. Tertiary prospectivity also exists with charge of these submarine fan systems being the principal risk.
